Tonight we had a session that focussed on how to maintain good mental health in difficult times; the news of the invasion of Ukraine has hit some of our young people hard.


We discussed:


โœ… Recognising fake news

โœ… Age appropriate news providers such as Newsround

โœ… Managing our exposure to news or even taking a break all together

โœ… Letting our parents and carers know if we are worried

โœ… Mindful methods to relax

โœ… Breathing techniques

โœ… Grounding activities to remain present

โœ… Identifying unhelpful strategies for coping

โœ… Daily habits to good health


๐ŸŽถ We also knocked out some tunes and played some games to finish our session with positivity, fun and laughter. ๐ŸŽฒ
