Beamish 2023

Today we took 40 children on a trip to Beamish Museum.

🥰 The museum was very very busy with lots and lots of visitors. The SYCP children were so patient, waiting in queues and waiting for their turn. They behaved beautifully.

We are disappointed that some grown ups weren’t as well behaved, and after our children stood in line patiently for 25 minutes waiting to get on the tram, some grown ups thought it was okay to push in front of them to get on first. Shame on them! But high five 🙋🏼‍♀️ to SYCP kids for being excellent ambassadors for our youth project.

🍊🍅🥒 Today’s trip, snacks and packed lunches were provided free of charge thanks to Fun and Food County Durham and Chester le Street and District Area Action Partnership

Thank you to the staff and volunteers at Beamish Museum for being so efficient on our arrival 🙏🏻

Also huge thanks to Gemma for menu planning and food shopping, thanks to Lisa for preparing and packing the food, and thank you to Pete for dropping it off at lunchtime so that the children received lovely fresh food.

The children had a choice of:

Pasta pots

Ham/cheese bun

Sausage roll

With

Vegetable crudites

Fruit

Sweet and savoury snacks

We are excited for our next session.

Gourmet Foody Families cooking session at the hub in Sacriston 🍽 the children will be making chicken skewers and veggie rice.
