Updated: Aug 4, 2021

👋🏻👋🏻 We wanted to bring to your attention to another of the fabulous young people on the SYCP Wall of Fame 👋🏻👋🏻

🎓Congratulations to Morgan who has successfully completed a CACHE Level 3 Early Years Workforce diploma and will be starting a degree in Childhood Studies in September🎓

🤩🤩Amazing!🤩🤩

👩‍💻 Morgan joined SYP as a senior and a volunteer in our junior sessions back 2018 and soon became employed as a trainee on our World of Work programme for young people age 13 and over. The WoW programme gives young people paid work experience and training, they also attend team meetings, participate in regular 1:1s and learn how to gather evidence for annual appraisals 👩‍💻

🧐 🧑‍🏫During her time with SYP, as part of her Continuing Professional Development Morgan has completed

  • Youth Sexual Health Awareness Level 2

  • Mental Health First Aid

  • Food Safety Level 2

  • Annual safeguarding training

  • Annual child protection training

  • First Aid Level 3 training

  • Autism and neurodiversity training

  • Suicide awareness

  • Gambling awareness

  • De-escalation and Positive handling techniques training

  • Fire safety level 2

  • Health and safety level 2

  • Peer mentor training

  • All additional In-house training

📝For the past two years Morgan has studied towards her Early Years Level 3 qualification, whilst working a weekend job, and also working as an auxiliary youth worker at SYCP on a evening and during school holidays.

👯‍♀️ Morgan said that SYCP has made her feel more confident within herself. Dealing with difficult situations made her realise she wanted to work with children and helped push her towards going for her college course when she left school.

⛺️⛵️The staff at our youth project are invested in making a difference to the lives of the young people who access our sessions. They provide unique opportunities and experiences to our young people. Now we are registered with Unifrog to give careers guidance we are able to enhance the support we give our young people to help them find their future.

👩‍👦👨‍👧We work closely with our young people and their families and form a relationship that lasts into adulthood.

🥰🥰 We are so proud of Morgan. She is so caring and great with our younger members and little ones in baby group. She has always strived to better herself and had high career aspirations since she joined SYCP World of Work. Good luck with your Childhood Studies degree, we couldn’t think of anyone more perfect to work with children. We will support you 100% to achieve your dream 🥰🥰
